It's not like it was new. The genre, which was given a name in 1948 by Jerry Wexler, who wanted to call it something other than 'race music,' has been in practice since at least the '30s.
So what made the stuff of '90s so noteworthy? Perhaps it was the collision of rap, new jack swing, gospel, and soul that stretched the genre wide open. Or maybe it's because it felt like R&B ruled the world back then. It's the decade in which megastars like Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly, and Mari.

I think the has definitely helped me expand my R&B mixtape catalog, but this 'PLATINUM STATUS' mixtape is easily the highlight of my.' When asked about the significance of the release date, Da' Hitman explains 'I wanted to get this out in time for the long Thanksgiving weekend, but before all the big album releases flooded the market starting on the 22nd.plus this will be free to download so it won't cut into anyone's budget.'
The mixtape will feature a collection of Donell's music spanning his entire catalog along with some surprise features that are exclusive to 'PLATINUM STATUS'.
